How to Train Your Dragon Trailer!

Dreamworks has released the official trailer for their latest venture into the 3-D animation world, How to Train Your Dragon.

The movie, based on the 2003 children’s book How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell, takes place on the fantastic island of Berk in a magical world filled with Vikings and Dragons. We follow young Hiccup, a young misfit Viking who doesn’t live up to his father’s expectations who is voiced by Jay Baruchel, as he inadvertently befriends a young dragon and sets out on an amazing adventure.
From the creators of Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, this looks like a pretty amazing movie. While the basic storyline of a son who disappoints his father and must prove himself is nothing new, this one is a rather refreshing re-imagining… and is has dragons. Dragons make everything better! The CGI effects are spectacular and I’d imagine they will be even more-so when viewed in glorious 3-D (a technology that has a mixed reaction for live action films but has definitely found a home in animated features). The film is directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch) and stars the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kristen Wiig. How to Train Your Dragon will debut in theaters in March of 2010. I can’t wait!
