avatar_tank_lo_1466784cNear Perfect is what I would say about Avatar. It was 7 pm and I chose to forgo dinner to purchase tickets for the 12:15 showing of Avatar…in 3D! With great anticipation, I waited in line. I snagged the only 2 seats available for the IMAX showing.

Now being in the business, I don’t get too riled up no matter how anticipated or acclaimed a film is. I have to tell you…IT WAS AMAZING.

The 3D experience was so smooth and well directed, I felt as if I was there. Now of course it wasn’t a simulator ride like Disney’s Soarin’ or Universal’s Back to the Future, but I swear to you that I experienced flight.

The storyline was no real breakthrough, but James Cameron made sure he had a solid and familiar tale to build this incredible experience around. The dialogue felt pretty generic, but spoken through the lips of Sigourney Weaver, made you recall the familiar experiences of the Alien tales.

The last time I felt this much excitement and wonderment about a movie was…well, Star Wars Episode IV when I was 7 years old.

I will be going to see this again!
